Wendy Williams was rushed to the hospital from her New York assisted living facility on Monday after authorities responded to a distressing wellness check. The former talk show host, who has been diagnosed with dementia, reportedly threw a handwritten note out of her fifth-story window, pleading for help.
The note, which simply read “Help! Wendy!!”, prompted an emergency call around 11:15 a.m., according to law enforcement sources. Shortly after, an ambulance arrived and transported the 60-year-old to the hospital for evaluation.

Williams’ health struggles have been a growing concern, and this latest incident has sparked further worry among fans and supporters.
The former Talk Show Host, who has been confined to the facility’s memory ward while battling to end her court-ordered guardianship, was later seen at the window waving her arms at a New York Post reporter while talking on the phone. The incident occurred just as news surfaced that the daytime star was set to make her long-awaited return to TV, despite her ongoing health struggles.
According to a report by the New York Post, Wendy Williams was scheduled to appear on ABC’s The View this Friday—marking her first daytime TV appearance since stepping away from The Wendy Williams Show four years ago.
Suzanne Bass, the former co-executive producer of Williams’ show, revealed the news in an Instagram post on Sunday.
“Prepping a very special friend for her appearance @theviewabc to air this Friday. #freewendy,” Bass captioned a video of herself speaking to Williams on the phone.
Williams’ court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, has previously stated that the former talk show host has “become cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and incapacitated” due to her battle with dementia.

However, Williams has pushed back against these claims, insisting she is mentally sound. In a recent phone interview with TMZ, she described her living situation as a “prison,” alleging that she is “not allowed” to leave on her own free will.
